Overdrive is a feature in vehicles that allows the transmission to shift to a higher gear ratio than normal, reducing engine speed and improving fuel economy. It is typically used on highways or other roads where speeds are constant and there is little need for acceleration.
Overdrive can be turned on by moving the gear selector to the “D” position and then pressing the “O/D” button. The “O/D Off” light on the dashboard will illuminate when overdrive is turned off.
